A Dallas, Texas native, Monica Millington moved to Singapore in 2017 after a bit of an ‘eat pray love’ journey around the world. With nothing familiar except her beloved travel tracksuit, it became her sort of comfort blanket as she made big life changes, trotted the globe and launched her first clothing brand. The set had been through so many of life’s biggest moments with her and served as a time capsule to more nostalgic times. It was this deep-rooted affinity for the matching tracksuit that seeded the idea of Sette.
Monica started cultivating her passion for brand creation and graduated from the Textile and Fashion Federation of Singapore's Fashion Incubator– SE Asia's first incubation program supporting emerging fashion initiatives with a focus on sustainability and innovation. She launched her first brand, Tropick in 2020 which got her noticed on the. hit Netflix series, The Apprentice, in which she placed top 4. Following that exciting and busy time, she decided it was finally time to launch her dream brand, Sette, back in her hometown of Dallas, Texas.
"As a female entrepreneur, my mission is to fearlessly break barriers and challenge the status quo at every turn, no matter what other people say can or can't be done," says Monica. The Founder uses her social media and brand presence to further educate her peers on sustainable fashion, champion female empowerment, and humorously document the trials and tribulations of life abroad.
